From September 17 to 21, the World Ponymen's Championships are on the agenda in Le Pin-au-Haras, France. National coach Ad Aarts has announced his selection.
The team at the Ponymen's World Cup will consist of two single-horse, two two-horse and two four-horse drivers. The number of Welsh drivers among the selected combinations is large:
Singles: Marije Willemsen (team) and Dirk Bastiaansen (team)
Double Jeans: Rondinde Rutjens, Cas Hendriks and Jelle Leliveld (team or individual, this will be announced at the end of August)
Fourhorse: Marijke Hammink (team), Dianne Legemaat (team) and Joris Wouda (individual)
In 2023 TeamNL, also under national coach Aarts, won the world title in their own country, and just like then in Oirschot, the selection below will now go for title prolongation in France. Two years ago there was also gold to celebrate and reigning world champions Marijke Hammink (four-horse) and Rodinde Rutjes (two-horse) are back this time.
