The NWPCS is constantly changing and wants to remain future-proof as an association. That is why a new step was taken during the Members' Council on June 21: the Advisory Committee. This committee is intended to be both a think tank and a sounding board for the main board on important themes such as government policy, laws and regulations, breeding vision and strategic files.

What does the Advisory Committee do?

The committee advises the main board on substantive and policy issues, such as:

• animal welfare and posture systems
• regulations from RFO or other agencies
• vision of breeding and future-proof policy
• developments in digitization or registration
• social issues affecting the industry

These are concrete topics where we like to use the knowledge and experience that is abundant within our association. The committee meets several times a year (physically or digitally) and works with clear assignments, duration and guidance from a board member.

Who is this committee for?

We are looking for committed members with:

• Interest in policy, regulation or breeding
• Experience inside or outside the industry (think lawyers, veterinarians, agricultural entrepreneurs, policy makers, etc.)
• The desire to make a positive contribution to the direction of the studbook
• An open mind and constructive attitude
