Register your breeder prefix - let your name speak for itself!
Welsh head
Are you a proud breeder of a foal that has grown into a beautiful horse or even a champion? Then you know how important it is that the pedigree is properly registered. With your own prefix or suffix, you give your breeding products a recognizable quality label that is visible in the studbook.
What is a prefix?
A prefix (or suffix), sometimes called stable name, is a unique word added to the horse's name that distinguishes you as a breeder. Foals with the same prefix are displayed together in the studbook, creating recognition and recognition.
Why register with the Central Prefix Register (CPR)?
The CPR has existed since 1978 and prevents different studbooks from inadvertently assigning the same prefix. There are now more than 45,000 registered prefixes and suffixes and about 700 new registrations per year. There are currently 50 studbooks in the UK and Europe affiliated with CPR, including the NWPCS.
How does it work?
- Download the application form from this link Application Registration Stable Name
- Email the form to the Pedigree Office (secretariaat@nwpcs.nl). Send email
- After verification, it will be forwarded to CPR and you will receive a certificate of registration. This is a one-time process unless you wish to expand to additional studbooks (e.g., WPCS or WPCV).
