The Breeder of the Year 2024 is the Flier Family

February 8, 2025

At the central stallion inspection, they were presented with the title by our team, a moment in which the Flier Family's exceptional commitment and passion for breeding was fully highlighted.

During this special moment it became clear how the Flier Family with their stable Rondo in Ijsselmuiden makes the difference in Welsh section B breeding. Their impressive achievements in recent years, including last year's approval of three stallions bred by themselves, testify to an enormous expertise and a deep-rooted love for the breed. Since the establishment of Rondo Stables in 2003, the family has proven time and again that their professionalism and dedication extend beyond numbers alone.

The Flier family is known not only for the quality of their stallions, but also for their enormous contribution to breeding. Their history, which already includes 18 stallions approved and 41 presented in their career, illustrates a life full of passion, knowledge and dedication. But it is not only the results that speak; the enthusiasm and willingness to advise and support colleagues make them an indispensable link in breeding. With no fewer than 97 rondo foals that have already seen the light of day, the family proves that their breeding makes a difference.

The Central Stallion Show was therefore the perfect time to reflect on the lasting impact of the Flier Family. In a well-filled Amalia Hall, they were therefore rightfully awarded the title of Breeder of the Year 2024. This recognition is a well-deserved title for their efforts and a confirmation of their indispensable role in the breeding of Welsh ponies.

We warmly congratulate the Flier Family on this special title and thank them for their continued contribution to breeding. Read the full report in the next Welshmagazine.
