By a strong final offensive Josien de Boer became Dutch Champion Paramennen. The driver rode a strong marathon with her pony Zodie Mijn Grensjuweel (by Leuns veld's Winston) and managed to further extend her lead in the skill.
Less routine
Hans Arends won the dressage with his new horse Navarone. His horse ran a marathon for only the second time and did so very creditably. Because Hans chose some longer lines he could not maintain his first place and won the bronze.
Ingmar Veneman finished second in both dressage and marathon with her always attentive horse Siglavy Linada. The driver who won bronze at last year's NK was out of action for almost a year due to major surgery and celebrated her comeback with a well-deserved second place at the championships.
Nervous
47-year-old Josien de Boer was super happy with her first win at the Dutch Championships. “I am extremely happy, I have tears in my eyes. I was very nervous, but I have a good groom behind who always reminded me to stay calm and focus. I really have a top pony, I'm proud of it, now on to the World Championships next year!”
