Heitholm's Nur Für Mich with lots of ‘go’ to victory

July 26, 2024

TOLBERT - During the first selection competition Heitholm's Nur Für Mich (by Nanho Black S) still had a little too much excitement for a high ranking, but in Tolbert everything fitted. Ridden by Sophie van Norel, the NRPS gelding ran to victory in the five-year-olds.

Nur Für Mich received a total of 83.5 points from judges Paulien Alberts and Vai Bruntink, also scoring the highest score of the day. He received the highest mark for his trot, which was rewarded with a nine. “This was a very good and complete pony. Really one with three good basic gaits, a lot of spring and go,” says judge Paulien Alberts. She laughs for a moment. “That ‘go’ just sometimes still got in his way a bit. Sophie handled that really nicely, but there is still room for improvement. Because of his fine basic gaits and beautiful conformation, he had enough points left to win.”

It was Bo Leijten who finished second in this class with Durello (by Diamond Touch). In Heerewaarden the combination was also third, and with that the winner of last year's four-year-old class is doing well. They received 80 points, with an 8.5 for harmony. “Bo had her pony together very well. Durello was very good on the aids and walked nicely over the back. He also walked evenly in both directions, whereas with young ponies you often see that one side is easier than the other. Bo really got everything out of him. They finished second because he has just a little less quality in terms of ability.”
The finalist of the prize winners in this section was Mirthe Bos. With her NWPCS mare Tip Top's Truus A.T. (by Castenrayseweg Charmeur), she collected 74 points. “Mirthe presented her pony very nicely, which also allowed them to show a very nice performance. It was a very appealing combination.”

Bo Leijten

Bo Leijten did good business in Tolbert, as she won the four-year-olds with 82.5 points with her four-year-old trump card Perfect Lightfeet (by Coelenhage's Handsome King). The 8.5 rating was given for trot, carrying & suppleness, harmony, and overall impression, among other things. “This was another particularly nice pony where Bo again got everything out of it, and he was presented in the same fine manner as Durello. At the bottom, this one has a little more quality. He is only four years old, but he has a lot of talent for carrying and he showed that in a very natural way already.”
Maud Hommes, who finished third in Wezep with Bumba JK (by Beauty W) now moved up one spot and finished second. They received a total of 80.5 points, with a nine for canter. “Bumba is still acting a bit green, which of course is allowed at this age. In addition, he shows three very fine basic gaits. The canter stands out, it is really extremely good,” said Paulien.
The top three in this age category were NWPCS ponies, as the number three is also registered with this studbook: Nijebert's Felix, a son of Neijebert's Marc. He was presented by Tymo de Vries and the combination was rewarded with 75.5 points. “Tymo rode really nicely! Felix is a fine pony with three correct basic gaits. Tymo also really got everything out of this pony that you can get out of it correctly for a four-year-old.”

Dirty Dancer

The six-year-old class also saw a winner who had previously ridden in the top three: the honor went to Suze Meertens with her NRPS gelding Dirty Dancer NF (by Dreidimensional AT). The duo received 78 points from the judges, with many eights on the list. “Dirty Dancer is a very fine pony who moves loose through the body. For his age, he could have a little more power. Suze presented him nicely.” Hiske Hulzinga picked up 76 points with Heitraks Enzo (by Nieuwmoed's Mister Right) and finished second. “This combination showed a neat performance, with the walk still needing some attention,” she said.”

Kyra Hingstman rode Marco (by Movie Star), who competed in the five-year-olds last year, to 75 points and third place. “This is a very nice pony to see, and he can step very nicely. The pony still has some trouble staying on connection from back to front, so that is a point of attention. Then the score can still go up.”

Adults

Last year there was the first opportunity for 18+ riders to compete in the DPC; this year it will be repeated and in Tolbert was the first opportunity for this. The adults will not be advanced to the finals, but that should not spoil the fun. Judy Leeuwis sent Amalia's Sloofke, the daughter of Speycksbosch Dickens, to 76 points and thus won this section. “Amalia's Sloofke really excels in her walk. So we gave an 8.5 for that. Judy presented her very correctly.”
Marissa Spoor was just half a point below that with her Mr. Blue Eye, an NRPS gelding sired by Dreidimensional AT NRW. “This pony has a very nice conformation and three neat basic gaits. He can still get a little more expression.”
Third prize in this section went to the NRPS stallion Isala's White Gold (by Leuns Veld's Winston Jr.), who was presented by Fabienne Balk. The combination received 75 points, making the winners in this section very close. “Isala's White Gold is a quality pony. Also with him you saw tension, which came out especially in the walk, and that also cost some points,” Paulien concludes.

Next week the selection will take place in Asten, this registration is still open! It promises to be a wonderful day at GP Stables, which will also include a tour of the farm & a show!
