Bijsterhof's Coer Noble to highest daily score in Wezep
It was the fall stallion Bijsterhof's Coer Noble (by Coer Noble) who ran to the highest score of the day at the DPC in Wezep, at the same time as the Mega Welsh Event. With 89 points, judges Trudi Houwen and Kimberly Pap put the approved NWPCS stallion in the lead among the four-year-olds.
Levi Heusinkveld presented Coer Noble and hauled in no less than four nines: for trot, canter, carrying and suppleness and overall impression. But the Christmas on the cake was the 9.5 he received for conformation. “In the four-year-olds we saw a lot of quality in general,” judge Trudi Houwen said. “Bijsterhof's Coer Noble really stood out because of his beautiful silhouette; it's a very complete pony.”
Second in this class was Didgeridoo NE WE (by Kastanienhof Donnertrommler), a placement the grulloruin under Sophie van Norel also received in Heerewaarden. This time the combination received 85 points, with a nine for harmony. “This pony is really already very confirmed for a four-year-old,” says Kimberly Pap. “For the beauty, he may be a little more open in the touch,” adds Trudi.
The top three was completed by the NWCPS stallion Bumba JK (by Beauty W), who is approved by the NRPS, under the saddle of Maud Hommes. The combination scored a total of 82 points and had a very solid list with many eights. The canter stood out with an 8.5 and his conformation was called ‘snappy’ by Trudi and rewarded with a nine. “Bumba was still a little greener than the other two prize winners,” Kimberly said. “But we expect that with a little more experience, he will become a very fine pony.”
Usable ponies
The group of five-year-olds was, according to the judges, a group with few outliers to the top, but brought very neat and serviceable ponies. The win here went to Evi Vaessen with her New Forest pony Everest Ferien (by Holthausen Frodo II). Last year they also managed to win a selection in the four-year-olds. The combination collected 76 points including an eight for harmony. “Everest Ferien is a very fine, workable pony who showed a consistent performance,” Kimberly said.
In second place, Balou Bontekoe was allowed to line up her New Forest gelding Napoleon ZF VIP (by Dimmans Edward) with a score of 71 points. The gelding received sevens throughout, with a nice 7.5 for his canter. “Again, a combination that was presented very nicely,” Trudi explained. “He walked with a very fine connection.”
Sophie Post completed the top three (69 points) with her NRPS gelding Never Ending Story HP (by FS Numero Uno). “They showed a consistent performance,” said Trudi, “if the pony gains some more power, that's going to make a difference.”
Win for Wapiti
At Heerewaarden, the NRPS mare Wapiti SK (by Der Feine Lord) and Sterre Kraaijeveld earned a third place; this time they were allowed to place first in the six-year-olds. The combination received 80 points including an 8.5 for harmony and conformation. “Wapiti is a very fine pony with a good canter,” said Kimberly. Trudi agrees and adds: “The pony was ridden very nicely to the hand, and is very confirmed in the transitions, which are executed with a lot of balance.”
Goldwin's Hoeve Cassandro (by Cassanova du Bois) took second place (77.5 points) with rider Annelivia Kuijpers. “They showed a super consistent image and good exercises. This was also really a pony that ran very nicely through the contra in canter,” Kimberly thinks. Trudi mentions the purity in the transitions and the nicely constructed performance.
Suze Meertens rode her NRPS gelding Dirty Dancer NF (by Dreidimensional AT NRW) to 75 points, allowing her to place third. Among other things, they received an eight for walk and conformation. “Dirty Dancer is a very nicely lined pony with lots of looseness in the body. He walked with a nice quiet connection and was presented with harmony,” Trudi concluded.
Registration for the selections is still possible! The next selection will take place in Asten (Heusden), registration for this closes next Saturday.
