Henk van der Weerd Hippiade men's skills champion
On August 15, 2023, in 24 championships, many Welsh ponies won prizes at the Hippiade men's event. One of the 24 champions was Henk van der Weerd with a two-span NWRs.
Henk van der Weerd again became champion two-horse skill with the 1.54-meter NWR's Blakt Django and Blokland hoeve Roman. The combination was the only one to cross the finish line of the skills course with built-in jump-off without any penalties.
“In 2021, we were also champions. A year later we had also qualified, but then we suffered a lameness injury and could not defend the title,” Van der Weerd said.
