The World Paramennen Championships will take place from August 23 to 27, 2023, on the grounds of Hippisch Centrum Exloo. This will be at the same time as the European Four-Pole Championships. Also competing at the World Parathlon Championships are riders with Welsh ponies, including Josien de Boer with Zodie Mijn Grensjuweel.
The World Paragliding Championships in Exloo is experiencing its seventh FEI edition. As many as 25 participants from 9 countries will travel to beautiful Drenthe in two weeks for their participation in the World Championships.
Zodie My Border Jewel
Josien de Boer from Borger, who is making her WC debut, will start the NWR chestnut mare Zodie Mijn Grensjuweel (by Leuns Veld's Winston). A. Schanssema-Geerlings bred the now 8-year-old mare out of Madelon (Woldhoeve's Bart x Anjershof's Rocky). In March the combination already surprisingly managed to finish third at the International Driving Competition in Exloo. (Read an interview by Steven Stegen with Josien here) De Boer competes in Grade I.
World Paramennes Championships
At the World Paramennen Championships, there are two classes competing: Grade 1 and Grade 2, so six individual medalists will be honored on Sunday, Aug. 27. The country teams consist of 2 or 3 competitors, at least one of whom must compete in Grade 1 (the toughest handicap). Participants will start with both horses and ponies in the two classes.
