Two-horse ponies dressage class ZZ

1. Melanie van de Bunt with Storm, Tumtum 68.917

She went from one prize-giving ceremony to the next and after silver in the single-horse ability (class M) and silver in the single-horse dressage (class M), she also took gold in the two-horse dressage class ZZ. Melanie van de Bunt thus took home a whole host of medals with her ponies, saying, “I had my youngest pony Storm with me. He has been together in the two-horse class ZZ for about four months now and did really well. I am proud of him and very satisfied. I also rode the skill with Tumtum and that was just fun. In the jump-off we went full throttle and went for it. It was a tough program today, also for the ponies. I'm glad when I can put my legs up and the ponies are back in the field.”  Source: KNHS

Marianne Wijdenes was last year's Hippiade Champion with Wrentnall Red Fox. So she came today with one goal: to defend the champion title. She is very happy to have succeeded again, also with the same pony. Wrenthall Red Fox is actually owned by her sister Ellen Wijdenes, who secured a bronze medal in the M level. They normally train a lot outside in the woods, but leading up to the Hippiade, the duo did a lot of trial practice. With results, as this two-time Hippiade champion goes home with two well-deserved medals. (Source: KNHS)

Bellefroid: “We do not have much competition experience yet. I came with no expectations and then still win here. Great. I come all the way from South Limburg and just like the ponies, we spent the night here. My ponies have only been in the harness for a few years. First we rode mostly recreational and we haven't been competing for that long. So this tastes like more!” (Source: KNHS)
