NWR Stud Book stallion Amalia’s Pieter to continue as a sport pony

Amalia’s Pieter has been sold and will continue his career as a sport pony with the young, talented Dutch rider Sophie Sassen (12).

Marjolein Ebbers has achieved several successes with Amalia’s Pieter, including Reserve Champion in the Limburg B-level dressage category DE.

Amalia’s Pieter (Vlagberg’s Bowden x Leuns Veld’s Lord) was bred by Lonneke and her father, Pieter van Laarhoven, and was co-owned by Henk Ebbers. “We’re expecting two foals by him ourselves,” says Lonneke. “Fortunately, we were able to freeze some very high-quality semen. So he’s still available through frozen semen.”

Lonneke continues: “After first purchasing the Welsh Partbred studbook stallion Vino van Blommerschot (Moviestar x Bo-Gi), bred by Jos Smits, from Henk Ebbers, we were asked if Amalia’s Pieter was also for sale. It was a difficult decision for us, and we’re definitely going to miss him! Hopefully we’ll be hearing a lot more about him, but this time from the competition arena.”
