Exceptional mare: Castenrayseweg's Julia

At the 2021 Central Stallion Show, there were three successful stallions with one thing in common: their grandmother is Castenrayseweg Julia. They are the NWR studbook stallion Amalia's Pieter, the Welsh Partbred stallion Castenrayseweg's Cassablanca WNE and the designated NWR stallion Chiron. Extra special is that the mothers of these stallions are full sisters.

Castenrayseweg Julia was born April 30, 1998 to Hub Kuijpers, the 2020 Breeder of the Year. She is a daughter of Bokkesprong Casjmier (v. Downland Folklore) from Steffie (Bokkesprong Czardas x Bright Moon xx).

Julia earned the predicates star and elite. She is one of those rare mares who, year after year, conceive without any problems and give birth to a healthy foal. Julia gave birth to 20 foals so far and is expecting a foal by FS Next Diamond this spring.

“Julia's strength is that she consistently passes on her beautiful model to her offspring.”

Hub Kuijpers in an interview in the Welsh Pony and Cob Magazine issue #1 of 2022

All three previously mentioned stallions are out of a daughter of Julia and the stallion Leuns Field's Lord (Vita Nova's Celestox Silver Top's Ricco) who was not listed as a NWPCS Studbook stallion until 2019, in part due to his excellent breeding results. Hub Kuijpers: “Lord fit great with Julia. Eight foals were born from this combination. I have always believed in that stallion. it is great to witness how grandchildren from that combination are doing so well.”

Full sisters

The star, preferred Castenrayseweg's Hanneke (Julia x Lord) brought in addition to the Welsh Partbred studbook lengths Castenrayseweg's Casablanca WNE (v. FS Champion de Luxe) also included the studbook stallions Castenrayseweg's Dominator WNE (by FS Numero Uno) and Castenrayseweg Charmeur (by Vlagberg's Carway) and the keur mare Castenraijseweg's Black Diamand (v. Valerio).

The preferred Castenrayseweg's Black Beauty (Julia x Lord) brought not only the recently entered NWR stallion in the studbook Amalia's Pieter (by Vlagberg's Bowden), as well as the designated Amalia's Huub (by Compagnion's Humfrey) and the second viewing stallion Amalia's Lucas (v. Vlagberg's Carway).

The keur mare Castenrayseweg's Black Lady (Julia x Lord) is the dam of, among others, the designated stallion Chiron (v. Vlagberg's Carway).

Sons of Julia

Full brother Castenrayseweg Lars (Julia x Lord) was approved as a breeding stallion in Germany and Julia's son Castenrayseweg's Mr. Sensation WNE (v. FS Mr. Right) earned the NWPCS stud certificate.
