Hoekhorst Example Adds ‘Olympia London’ Titles to Its Record

The Christmas issue of Welsh Pony & Cob Magazine, which will arrive in members’ mailboxes this week, features a wonderful article about the highly successful Hoekhorst Example. This Dutch-bred Welsh Section A stallion champion at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show. Successes continue to pour in for the gray horse, carefully bred by the Hoeke family, as he struck gold once again last weekend at the Olympia London Horse Show.

Rinus Hoeke of Hoekhorst Stud says: “Hoekhorst Example, also known as Handsome Harry, qualified this season to compete in the Mountain & Moorland Championships at the highly prestigious 2021 Olympia London Horse Show, held last weekend in London. He was ridden to great success by Libby Grota of Cadlanvalley Stud and was named ‘Best of Breed Section A’; he also placed tenth overall out of a total of about 75 competitors representing various breeds, such as Welsh A, B, C, and D, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Connemara, New Forest, etc.”

“As breeders, we are, of course, extremely proud of this amazing achievement. It’s great publicity for the Welsh Pony.”
