A Look Back at Today

Dear NWPCS Members,

Last Saturday, April 8, the Members’ Council, together with the interim board and several representatives from the chapter boards, held a retreat in Oene in the Veluwe to discuss the future and organizational structure of the NWPCS.

’This morning, we were deeply inspired as we listened to our two-year novice member, Marjolein Neuteboom, who cheerfully and positively told us how incredibly difficult—and sometimes frustrating—it is for new members to grasp the Welsh mentality of our studbook; and whether we shouldn’t give the new members a little more positive attention—perhaps we’re actually driving them away right now. Beforehand, Henk Bleker gave an introduction to the organizational structure of our studbook, and Harold Zoet concluded with one as well.

’This afternoon, we all discussed, in a very positive atmosphere, how to proceed with the administrative reorganization of the NWPCS. This meeting, which we all found very enjoyable, has resulted in a potential framework for a new governance structure for the NWPCS. This framework will be presented to you during the upcoming chapter meetings.

Henk Bleker will do so on April 12 at 8:00 p.m. at the Central General Meeting in Ermelo, Piet Peters will do so on April 15 at 4:00 p.m. at the ALV Zuid in Someren, and Ben Platzer on April 20 at 8:00 p.m. at the ALV Noord in Lieveren. The NWPCS Members’ Council hopes to see many of you at these meetings so that we can use your input to move forward at the upcoming Members’ Council meeting on April 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Ermelo.
